La notion d’Intelligence artificielle est décrite à partir de quatre polarités : ses buts, son rapport au calcul,

ses méthodes d’investigation et les connaissances qu’elle produit. On décrit ces polarités avant d’en venir

à une hypothèse générale sur le rapport de l’Intelligence artificielle et de l’informatique : l’Intelligence

artificielle vise à confirmer la vision alphabétique et numérique du monde déployée par l’informatique.

The notion of artificial intelligence is described from four perspectives: its aims, its relationship to com-

putation, its investigation methods, and the knowledge it produces. These factors are described and

then a general hypothesis elaborated on the relations between artificial intelligence and information

technology: the aim of artificial intelligence is to confirm the alphanumeric vision of the world deployed

by information technology.
