About the ACT partnership

Funded by the Canadian Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC), the Autonomy Through Cyberjustice (ACT)  partnership has assembled since 2018 a team of over 52 researchers and 44 partners representing a number of different stakeholders including the world’s leading research centres on the implementation and use of technologies in the field of justice. litigants and legal professionals, as well as main users and purveyors of AI for justice in Canada.

The goal of the partnership: leveraging artificial intelligence (AI) to benefit justice stakeholders to prevent and resolve conflicts.

 

About the 2025 conference

The 2025 Conference will mark, inter alia, the conclusion of the ACT project’s “Roadmap for Digital Transformation”, and bring together over 45 researchers, partners and legal professionals in Montréal, in the heart of the Cyberjustice Laboratory, the event's host.

This year, we aim to showcase Canada’s leadership in the fields of artificial intelligence and technological innovation within the justice system, while facilitating critical discussions on key issues in line with the ACT project: What did we learn? What did we miss? Where are we heading?
